Our story

The gold of the Baltic

Millions of years ago, resin dripped from ancient pines on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Buried and pressed over time, it hardened and fossilised into amber — a stone warm to the touch and full of light, sometimes holding a tiny piece of the ancient forest inside. Lithuania has gathered this Baltic amber for centuries, and its craftsmen still set it by hand. Gintaras works with those Lithuanian makers, setting pieces of 40-million-year-old amber into jewellery that carries the warmth of the sea that made it.

How it's made

Each piece of amber is gathered on the Baltic coast, shaped and polished to bring out its warm inner light, then set by hand in silver or on a cord. Every stone is a unique, 40-million-year-old original.

How to use it

Wear it as you would any piece of jewellery — a pendant, a bead, a pair of earrings. Amber is light and warm to the touch. Wipe it gently with a soft cloth and keep it out of harsh solvents, and it will last a lifetime.

Good to know

Is it jewellery or something else?

It is jewellery — a natural gemstone worn for its beauty. It is not a treatment or remedy of any kind.

Is every piece unique?

Yes — each piece of amber is a one-of-a-kind, 40-million-year-old original, with its own colour, light and sometimes a tiny inclusion from the ancient forest.

Is it real Baltic amber?

Yes — Gintaras works with Lithuanian makers who gather and set genuine Baltic amber, not a substitute or a treated imitation.

How do I care for it?

Wipe it gently with a soft cloth and keep it away from harsh solvents and prolonged heat. Amber is soft, so treat it kindly and it will last a lifetime.

Why is it warm to the touch?

Amber is a fossilised resin, not a mineral stone, so it does not hold cold the way rock does. It is light and warms quickly in the hand, which is one of its pleasures.

What is Baltic amber?

It is fossilised tree resin, gathered from the shores of the Baltic Sea, that hardened and fossilised over millions of years. The stones here are around 40 million years old.
